Re: Kjots blind

kjots was last updated on 2024-03-06 and you'll have to add more context to gage what even the problem is.
What is your desktop environment/window manager? Are you now running plasma on wayland and did before run plasma on X11?
Are only the kjots dialogs affected? Do other dialogs (eg. the about dialog) show?
What is "System optins" and how do you know it "starts" if if doesn't show a window?

My best guess based on the scarce information is that this is xdg-desktop-portal related, check your journal for respective error messages/warnings.

Please post the entire shell output.
Do you get the same problem on a plasma/X11 session?

kjots cannot connect to akonadi?

akonadictl status

Does https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/knotes/ work?

Do you also get the systemsettings error on an X11 session?
Please post your Xorg log, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Xorg#General

Re: Kjots blind

There's /usr/bin/knotes so I'd try to type "knotes" into an interactive shell and see what happens…

Re: Kjots blind

Now working plasma plymout

Err… what?
plymouth is a boot animation screen and pretty much irrelevant to this.
And you don't seem to have a functionla GL setup and end up w/ a likewise broken GL over vulkan emulation…

Try the behavior on X11, post your xorg log and also the outputs of "glxinfo -B" and "vulkaninfo"

Edit: and "printenv"

Your GPU doesn't support either vulkan nor wayland (ie. don't even try to run plasma on wayland!)

Re: Kjots blind

module nvidia_drm missing

, that's irrelevant - adding the kernel commandline parameter will prevent the simpledrm device from being added - even if you only had an AMD GPU.

You're not forcing wayland backends from the environment, though - does "libEGL warning: egl: failed to create dri2 screen" remain after disabling the simpledrm device?

Re: Kjots blind

You means that I have to compile the kernel where in

/usr/src/linux-lts/include/generated/autoconf.h

I must set

"#define CONFIG_DRM_SIMPLEDRM 0"     instead of        "#define CONFIG_DRM_SIMPLEDRM 1"

Re: Kjots blind

No, you need to add nvidia_drm.modeset=1 to your kernel parameters: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel_parameters

This was currently to get knotes to run so we can see whether it can connect to akonadi.

Re: Kjots blind

Loking on akonadi I found this situation

akonadi-notes
depends on

calendarsupport
kdepim-addons
kdepim-runtime
knotes
korganizer
pim-data-exporter

akonadi-notes5
depends on

kjots

so in my system i installed both packages.

This  akonadi-notes  and   akonadi-notes5 seams really strange.

Re: Kjots blind

kjots has simply not (yet) been ported to KDE6 - does "knotes" work now?
If not, what errors do you get from it?

Re: Kjots blind

You're supposed to test knotes to see whether akonadi works at all.
