Hi, sorry for the late reply, school is being a handful atm.
Nope, that option is still there.
How would I go on about just disabling sleep altogether? Thinking I could disable it while I'm actively using my computer and turn it on for diagnosing the issue.

xset -dpms

To toggle it on

xset +dpms

but this implies that every tool in your desktop session could do the same (and still explicitly enter DPMS based on own merits)

But you can disable the extension and that will completely prevent it for the X11 server until you alter the config and restart X11
