Re: [SOLVED] XWayland performance regression with kernel 6.10

I can confirm the patch got included in 6.10.10, which is now available in Core:

Alex Deucher (2):
Revert "drm/amdgpu: align pp_power_profile_mode with kernel docs"
drm/amdgpu: always allocate cleared VRAM for GEM allocations

From my tests so far, it appears to indeed solve the issue.

From what I can tell, the issue also seems to be resolved for me running 6.10.10-zen1-1-zen

6.10.10 runs fine, tried 6.11 though, and it's awfully bad, even kde desktop itself is unusable for me

Re: [SOLVED] XWayland performance regression with kernel 6.10

Thanks for confirming, I'm probably gonna mark this thread 'solved', at least for now.

As to kernel 6.11, yes, it seems to introduce new issues of its own, which I suspect may take a few releases to be ironed out. So don't rush when it's available in Core. (It's currently in Core-Testing.)

Re: [SOLVED] XWayland performance regression with kernel 6.10

Has anyone tested kernel 6.11.1 yet? I had heard that 6.11 was bringing new issues of their own with amdgpu, wondering if anyone has experience with it? (And additionally wondering why kernel 6.11 never made it to Core, stayed in Core-Testing and now 6.11.1 is finally released in Core. Was it so bad that it was deemed impossible to release as such?)

Not tested as of yet, waiting until weekend as I work on this machine.
