Thanks gromit - issue still present

@graysky You could randomly try an older kernel, i.e. from the linux-lts (6.6) branch or a 6.11 one from the Arch Linux Archive. Once we know that there is a "good" version we could take a stab at bisecting the issue.

I have the same thought, but I don't have a systematic method to trigger the hard freeze. I'm just going to run with the iGPU disabled and check back in a few months.

@graysky have you ruled out a hardware issue with the new GPU?

@loqs - the new GPU is integrated within the 9950X so no way to rule it out

OK, so this began to bug me and I started pulling kernels back from the ALA in an attempt to find a last-good starting point. Since my issue is likely not this one, please look at this thread if you have any ideas. Thanks.

I am experiencing the same GPU errors since upgrading to the aforementioned kernel version. If anyone (gromit?) would like to contact me on discord (just reply here with your username or I can give you mine) we can hop on a call / use DMs to bisect the issue faster & post the results here.
Since I know you'll all want this:
Computer: Lenovo Yoga Pro 7
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS
GPU (iGPU): AMD Radeon 680M
Using KDE Plasma Wayland

amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x10 fixed it for me

@The Jess Plus E have you looked post #34 of this thread which has already been bisected?
Offline
@loqs I saw that, however it wasn't very clear to me as to if the issue had actually been solved, the best-case I've seen is a workaround, or a patch that doesn't / only mildly improves things. I'm happy to leave it here & I'll stop unnecessarily bumping the thread if I'm of no help to anyone or if the issue is already on track to being solved (next kernel version?).
