I finally got the info script working.. I've been playing with irssi and a few other things..

the urxvt was shamelessly ripped from someone here, I have no idea who now...  I need to fix my other term so it isnt blue.. it's a little overbearing right now..

Very nice fluxbox screenie. It's good looking without being impractical.

Zep, well it was 1 am here, i can forgive that wink

iBertus, thanks..  I've gotten to a point where I like to keep it simple..   thanks for the compliment...

I'm working on learning how to use screen. I want to get to phreakture's "leetness".
I've been working on getting mpd to fucntion properly.  And I still need to change the blue term.. it's a little overwhelming.

Have you tried to turn it off and on again?

Re: March 2007 Screenshots

I didn't know you could make it "float" like that, I thought it was stuck against the bottom. :S Is there a good tutorial or reference somewhere for customizing pypanel?

Why such a small resolution?

You're not first, who asks. :-) The answer is: because my monitor (17" Hyundai ImageQuest Q770) is capable of 100 Hz when displaying at 800x600. When displaying at 1024x768, maximum possible refresh rate is 85 Hz, which is low enough to make my eyes hurt. The higher resolution, the lower refresh rate. Over years I became comfortable with 800x600 and it's no problem to me at all.

Re: March 2007 Screenshots

Wow your eyes actually hurt at 85 hz :S. Damn I used to keep mine at 60hz for awhile and it never bothered me hah, though I know some don't like 60 but usually 75-85 is ok for most. Anyway got my widescreen lcd now and I don't think I could handle such a low res neutral.

Would you be willing to share your configuration file that governs placement? I have some extra pixels to spare on the bottom of my screen and I think it looks awesome having your pypanel floating.

Re: March 2007 Screenshots

I once saw the floating PyPanel at a screenshot of yankees26. I asked him how to handle this and he answered:

Yes, the panel is pypanel and to get it to start with different coordinates I used a patch made by rab ( which I put in my svn repo: http://jrosten.googlecode.com/svn/confi … ffer.patch ). My pypanel config if you want it (you'll need to see it to get the patch correct is here: http://jrosten.googlecode.com/svn/confi … /pypanelrc ).

You can find my wallpaper here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/48178244/

Thanks. Sure, here they are:

~/.Xdefaults - maybe you'll have to change cursor theme to match yours
~/.conkyrc - tune it to work with your lm_sensors setup
~/config/visibility/config
darkness-openbox-wm.tar.gz - Openbox theme; to be extracted to ~/.themes. I found it here. I use MurrinaNeoGraphite GTK theme from community/gtk-engine-murrine with it.

Conky, Visibility and URxvt font is Terminus, which you can find in community repository. Root window color is set with xsetroot -solid "#808080".

Thanks Mo. Man does it ever look good. Now I just need to find a background I like. I might just make one.
