Re: [Solved] Random system freezes while playing games, no logs

Have you checked the CPU power connector and the port that it plugs into on the motherboard for damage or a bad connection?

What temperatures are you looking at?
The RAM will tolerate way less than the CPU, let alone the GPU.

If the climatic changes reduced the frequency, chances are a fan will stabilize the system - likewise might a more conservative configuration (lowest frequency/timings, no XMP etc)

I don't think the climate caused this, it got better after disabling the GSP Firmware. It was also already better during the hottest day we've had this year

What kind of PSU is in this system?

Something you could do, if possible...and I have a AMD gpu. Haven't had a nvidia gpu in a bit but something you could try is to limit the max wattage used by the gpu.
Can you use something to turn down max power the gpu uses? Maybe use LACT to turn down the "power usage limit" and see if the problem persists. I would start with -60 to -100 watts.

Also, something you could do is record (with your phone or some other method) the output of this command while playing one of the games that locks your system up:

watch -n 0.3 sensors

...apparently motherboard VRM (if the VRM temps are even shown but still...) overheating can cause hard-locks too.

Also, there's some way you can flush+update logs to a file on disk every 0.3 secs?

Hey, sorry for the long response time. This issue seems to have resolved itself somehow, or at least it's not happening more than like once a week. Since this makes it actually impossible to test, I'll just mark this post as solved again.

Thanks for the help. If it does return for whatever reason, I'll try this, but with how often it's happening right now it's impossible to know whether it's been fixed or I'm just lucky
