For some reason eSnips.com did not work for me in Firefox (just kept asking for my login over and over) but it worked fine in konqueror (without registration). It also took me some googling to find out that you need kommander installed (from kdewebdev package) and that 'kmdr-executor scriptname' executes the script.

Sorry for not making it clear!
I think I had posted the requirements at some other posts.
the script works if you have Kommander installed.A PKGBUILD for Kommander is available at AUR : http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?d … hans=&SeB=
So, does it work well enough??

Hi!
For all those people looking for a simple systray notification of updated packages in the kde kicker i have a solution:
http://kdemod.ath.cx/repo/source-data/s … .1.tar.bz2
It just displays a green icon if there are no updates available and a yellow one if there are some updates.
It checks every 30 minutes. If you right click the icon you can do an update manually or invoke konsole with "pacman -Syu" to update the system.
PKGBUILD on AUR follows soon.
It syncs with all your repositories you configured in pacman.conf automagically. If you don't have a recent PC starting up may last a while as it syncs all repositories on startup.
This will evolve into something more sophisticated soon ![]()
Edit: PKGBUILD is online ![]()

Yes, that site works quite bad. I could only download the first version after 20 tries or so. The second I still couldn't get it, with either Firefox or Konqueror. It seems that it just works during some minutes every day ![]()

Why use a graphical package manager, when you can have a console and type pacman ![]()
