I meant, don't drink but use the forums instead (some linguistic problems for me too). Actually, using the bbs and try to write meaningful posts is harder after the hangover, not meanwhile.
Regarding git pushes, I'm sparing other people the duty to correct mine (at least for now).

I don't post much because I'm shy
That's why the internet (and alcohol) was made.

It's okay, I'm pretty good at acting sober But yeah, don't want to be a nuisance.

Hello people. I don't know how I initially came to knowledge of Arch's existence, but something stuck with me after reading the FAQ page on the wiki, the "I am a complete GNU/Linux beginner. Should I use Arch?" section almost sounded like a challenge, I love challenges! Also considering I am about to start studying Computer Science, I had been looking for a way to understand more about Linux and how it works, in that way Arch was a Godsend as I didn't even know what a kernel was or what its job was before finding Arch.
I have not yet finished completed installing X (as you can see in this forum post I just made) and my desktop environment of choice (conflicted between KDE and LXQT, or maybe I'll mix and match)
Arch has been a very rewarding experience to setup, I have been using mostly KDE software for about a month since I edited this.
I have a lot of time I am able to read at the computer during my job, so I have been studying and writing down notes of things to do when I get home. Its been a nice way to keep myself occupied

Hello everyone, I'm Jean-Marc, from France.
I use linux since october 2017, for my studies (I'm in Epitech school). Now I just want to change distros to arch, especially to replace a corrupted fedora.
Have a nice day,

Hello everyone,
Two months of arch and have to say they have been amazing. Before this after using Ubuntu/Fedora for a few days I ran away from linux on both ocassions. But arch really made me stay with linux and uninstall windows from my PC. As the time goes by the things are only getting better. I love tech and the things were getting really boring lately. Started using arch and experimenting around with the system. Have tried out a loads of Window Managers (KDE, Gnome, Deepin, Cinnamon) to finally settle with Openbox(with plank, conky, pcmanfm). The performance is great. And loving the looks after a bit of theming. Never felt so happy in a long time using my PC.
Hope others too have fun with this distro

Not NEW to Linux but going to be NEW to Arch.
I was going to be on my 3rd install of Mint to fix problems and...
A friend recommended Slackware but after looking around I found Arch.
It appears similar to Slack but newer.
I also have high praise for Arch's documentation.
Many times I end up here for Linux issues.
I know this install will be painful & hope to be up and running Arch soon.
I am a C Programmer as well as other languages.
I have already written some things for Linux.
So I feel confident that I will get Arch up and running.

Hello Everyone,
Im not really new with Arch (Currently been using Arch for more then a year, might even approach 2 years by now), I got enough linux knowledge that i did not needed to search the forums and felt too new with Arch to contribute on the forums. Recently decided to come to the forum (Mainly because i want to contribute in some way and i figured Forum is a good place to start).
A little about my self:
Origionally from Holland, currently migrated to Jakarta - Indonesia.
Travel a lot for work (Luckily our company mainly uses linux)
Im in the IT sector (Working in dusty server rooms all over the world)
Main hobbies are gaming (Yes on Arch linux only, no windows), and optimizing my laptops/desktop.
Any questions please feel free to ask them.
Thanks to the wonderful arch team and community to create such a wonderful distro, i doubt i will ever switch to another distro again.

Hello, I’m happy to have found a community that does not accommodate the dumbing down culture that has developed in the digital world. I must say.... I love the self vetting layout of the forum and the way its moderated and as I learn this distro inside out, I welcome all the scrutiny along with any help I reach out for. I'm a contractor in my 30's who learned ms-dos command at 12 and was a windows guy until the outrageous privacy revelation of windows 10 eula. I been distro jumping for a couple of years now and decided Arch is what I'm going to stick to. I look forward to becoming acclimated into your community and eventually being able to giveback!

Hello everyone,
I suppose I'm one of the few in here that doesn't have a tech background (more of a hobby, as long as it involved being creative), but loves the principles behind Linux and the challenges of Arch - which is winning a place in my heart. For more than a couple of decades I worked in post production and visual effects, before moving on to producing. I started off from AMSOS/CPM & Locomotive Basic 1.0 > Amiga OS/Workbench 1.3/2.0/3.0 > Windows 3.1/95/Me/NT/2000/XP/Vista/7/10 > Linux Suse/Ubuntu/CentOS/Manjaro/Solus/Mint/Antergos/Fedora/Arch - and of course 4-5 years with OSX. One of the reasons I adore Linux & recently entered Arch with both a desktop and a laptop, initially started on the ground of morality. I like to think myself as a politically aware person who doesn't enjoy where the world is going. For me, Linux & especially Arch, as I'm seeing so far - with all the people coming together, basically shows the best aspects of humanity. Now, that is something to strive for, no?
In any case, I am still far away from being an expert, but I can hold my ground enough to have setup two Arch workstations. One of them for audiovisual material. If only I didn't have an RX AMD card, I'd be even happier!
Thank you all and it's great being here... finally!

Just spent an enjoyable afternoon installing arch for the first time. A steep learning curve but I'm there with a nice gnome desktop with all my usual goodies!

Hello all, I am using Arch for about 2 months now and I simple love it, it's the perfect OS for me since I'm starting Computer Science and with it, I will come across more challenges but I guess that's the purpose right?
Like everyone new, I've so many questions that I trust you who have been here for a long time can explain, or better yet, point me to the right path so one day I may be helpful to someone else.
Thank y'all!

Whatup guys
I'm still new to Arch Linux but I've been using GNU/Linux for about a year and a half now. I installed Arch Linux with ease on my VirtualBox about a month ago. However, I decided to install Arch on my laptop hardware (UEFI) to dual-boot Arch with Win10 on and ran into a CRAP load of problems. I was frequently using ArchWiki to find the solution to my troubles of which is why I'm here. I want to continue to learn and help others with their issues.
Looking forward to getting involved with the community!

Hi, I'm Jonathan from The Netherlands.
Been using Linux since I was a teenager, started with Ubuntu Dapper Drake / Fedora Core 9+, later on Linux Mint, but have never installed Arch.
Last Saturday, I installed Arch on an old laptop, which went pretty well. Now, I've managed to get it working on a newer laptop, which was somewhat more difficult.
The forums and wiki are golden here. Keep up the good work with Arch, it is really lightning fast (MATE set-up) and bleeding edge (though running linux-lts).
Looking forward to hear from fellow Archers :>)
