Hello all!
I am working on setting up a server for my home network to perform various functions, and figured I might as well make this painful and learn Arch at the same time. I have Ubuntu experience through Mint, and run a dual boot Mint/Windows on my daily driver.

Hello everyone!

I am a long time Linux user. I started out with SUSE because of my high-school back in 2007. I jumped around between Debian offshoots for a while when I discovered Arch Linux in 2018.

I used Arch offshoots such as Manjaro, Arco, and I was on EndeavorOS for the last two years.

Over the weekend, I finally took the plunge, and installed Arch the proper way!

I just followed the wiki, & figured it all out!

I am excited to be here and look forward to contributing to the community!

Hello everyone!

I am a long term user of open source software and after my Win10 updater failed and failed again. I finally took the step and jumped to Linux.

Everything I need for my hobbies, KiCad, Arduino stuff, Electronics, simple programming and even gaming works great.

So, thank you to all the contributor around the world, for your awesome work.

Hello to everyone!

I am a Computer Science student but I was lazy and never worked hard so I quit after 2 years, last year I restarted and now I'm serious about studying!

I am a beginner, but I have some basic knowledge and I'm reading as much as my brain can take from the wiki while also looking at videos on youtube for everything Linux-related, I'm excited to learn more with you all.

I am new to Arch, I have been using other distros for 20+ years, but this is the first time I have tried Arch. Not sure what took me so long, but I am enjoying the journey and learning as I go. I am sure I will be posting around when I have issues, or if I can help out I will sure try.

Hello~! New here and a total newbie to linux as a whole. Last time I even attempted to mess with linux was a knoppix live cd back in like, 2004 or 2005. Had the great idea to salvage an 845 G7 at work since I was able to get it dirt cheap as scrap and learned how to strip the bios password out of it. Decided it was the perfect opportunity to learn linux and decided I might as well dive in head first into Arch kind of as a joke because I heard how difficult it can be to install. Went surprisingly smooth. I did use the script, but still had to diagnose some issues I was having but was able to get it all squared away and. Been using it daily for almost a week now and I'm instantly in love with linux. Had no idea I'd enjoy using it as much as I do.  This laptop has made for a nice little portable light gaming system and overall snappy general use system. I'm happy to finally get a chance to properly dive in and learn linux. Didn't think I'd like using the terminal to do most everything as much as I do lol. It's been fun just wondering if it's possible to do something, do a bunch of searching to find out how to do what I want, and just make the system do it without too much trouble as long as I pay attention to what I'm doing. Still obviously learning how to navigate the system but I'm learning pretty quick.

I reviewed the installation guide wiki, my coworker told me about the archinstall script, watched some videos on how to install both manually and through the script, and due to the limited time I had when I was installing it I decided to go ahead and try the script primarily to try and save some time due to literally never using linux in this capacity before. Though going forwards I'll most likely use the manual install as I did notice the script does have some minor issues. Nothing that broke the process, but things that I'd rather not have to fix the next time I install the system. Manually installing now that I've had some time to get accustomed to linux doesn't seem too difficult and looks pretty straight forwards.

It's Luca, from Italy.

I am taking my first steps in using Linux after many, many years on macOS.
I tried a couple of distros (Manjaro, Debian, EndeavourOS and Arch) on a Virtual Machine before buying a used laptop to practice on a real one.

I realize the path ahead of me will be steep -so many things to learn- but I am willing to try, to search and read around, starting from Arch Wiki and this forum.

My target is to install Arch Linux to an older system with x86_64 CPU and old NV FX 6 series video card. (I do not like the nouveau limitation (for Kodi, DosBox, ...)).

I first installed Arch in 2016. This was my first Linux. Before this, I read the article in Wikipedia about Arch many times and after some time I said to myself: yes, this philosophy (K.I.S.S.) is exactly what I am looking for, because I consider myself a minimalist and a perfectionist.

Later I understood that there are two types of KISS philosophy with a comma (Keep It Simple, Stupid) – the Arch Linux way; and another one, without comma – KISS Linux way. I like both approaches, but at the moment I choose the Arch way, because I need to do my work, so I need a convenient tools that saving my time.

Then there was a delay of 2 years. And after that I entered the world of Linux without going back... Omitting all the details of my path to the perfection of my system, the only thing I want to say is that I tried many distributions (Gentoo, KISS, Debian, Fedora, Nix, Guix, Crux, etc.), but after Arch, they were completely unusable for me.

So...I feel like I am home now. Happy to finally be here with you guys!

Hey everyone!

Been very new to Arch Linux, but wanted to use it to experiment with TensorFlow, but still run into some dumb ACPI error of duplicates, fixing it now.

I'm gonna use the AI that I'm gonna call for Yuki in memory of a adorable kitten I used to own, but I'm gonna teach it to play MineCraft and stream it on Twitch or Kick not sure yet, but also get into Tekkit to see if it can learn to make machines, witchcraft and blood magic! so fun to experiment with such things.
