lol, I already messed up using mutt (fetching mails from gmail by pop3). I deleted a mail by mistake, I pressed d when mutt wasn't supposed to have the focus, so I didn't even notice the mail was going to be deleted, and I had "set delete=yes" in mutt config, so it didn't ask for confirmation.
So I still have the mail in gmail, but not in mutt, and I don't see any way to get it back
I could disable gmail's pop3 and enable it again, but then it would fetch all mails back next time, instead of just the one I need. I guess that's what I'll have to do if there isn't any better ways.

You can undelete messages by pressing u. I bet it's already too late now though.

actually I'm testing kmail instead of thunderbird. I think, actually I like it more than thunderbird already!
now with 80% more sax-appeal!

Well, I didn't know that either But yes, it was already too late, I only noticed my error
when I switched folders, and the mail was actually deleted.
Anyway, I went in gmail looking at that mail, I chose "display original" in the menu,
it displayed the mail with all the headers in text format, so I downloaded that,
then I deleted the first 10/20 lines or something, with all the Received stuff,
I put this in my maildir box, and mutt read it just fine
The mail went back in the correct place in mutt, in the correct thread, with the
correct date/subject/from/to fields So it's perfect.

I guess I'm the first one in this thread to use Gnus. (I'm not the only on the arch ML though.)
fdm + gnus + smtpmail
And I'm going check out phrakture's fdm.conf, that general mailing list stuff sounds awesome!
A screenshot for reference: (I had it before I saw this thread, so why not) :-)

Claws Mail here. Small, fast and works great with Gmail POP3. What more could a man want?

for you guys who use Gmail and seem to complain about it (imo), you do realize they have free POP3 access right?
