The icon issue should be fixed, updated packages, and the testing repo is now 100% required, as I will be building against gnome 2.20.
Offline
nes, does this mean that users will need to install *all* of the packages in [testing] or is the libx11 still the only requirement?

You must use the testing repo because gnome 2.20 is in there.

I'll update the wiki to reflect the new requirements, but I'm concerned that if folks do a system-wide update to [testing] it will break many video cards because ATI's fglrx driver isn't compatible with the latest Xorg (also in [testing]) and I think some Nvidia users are having difficulties as well, not to mention the multiple problems reported with input devices.
How do you recommend we proceed with the documentation?

They could simply put an ignore on the xorg 7.3 packages..

The Compiz Fusion wiki has been updated: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Compiz_Fusion
I am not using [testing] so I can't really test the latest info, but if the instructions are missing anything, please let me know and I'll update them asap.

[XxX@josephine ~]$ emerald --replace
emerald: error while loading shared libraries: libwnck-1.so.22: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

madrano, as you can see above, you must be using the testing repo, and have run pacman -Syu so that you have the gnome 2.20 libwnck (and anything it requires from testing)

For anyone using the x86_64 repo, the 64 bit packages will NOT be built against testing for now. The reason for this is the lack of Gnome 2.20 packages in testing for x86_64. I will continue building packages on core/extra until Gnome 2.20 is pushed to the extra repo. Sorry....

Thanks for the tip, Paul... I've updated the wiki to reflect that.

Nice to hear that paul.

Guys please read, you need to use the testing repo for more than libx11, enable the testing repo completely and upgrade with pacman -Syu.

Anyone else missing window titles? Not the borders, but the titles that should show on window thumbnails and the shift switcher?
Offline
If you're using Xfce instead of GNOME you don't have to download whole GNOME. Just remove comment in your pacman.conf "testing" repo and download only the libwnck library.

Anyone else observing odd gnome-terminal resizing behavior with gnome 2.20 and compiz-fusion going? I've got background transparency enabled but the sequence of: open a new gnome-term. Use my toggle-maximize-vertically key, then trying to use the mouse to increase the width of the window pretty much just kills it. It never expands to that size, and it certainly never redraws. Other apps (Firefox), resize just fine (but aren't transparent).

Hi there,
I'm using the testing repo ... did a pacman -Suy .... got everything updated ... BUT ... fusion-icon on tray is still corrupt.
any ideas ?

warlock, run gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/highcolor as root. Does that help?
Offline
It says:
No theme index file in '/usr/share/icons/highcolor'.
If you really want to create an icon cache here, use --ignore-theme-index.
Tried with --ignore-theme-indes:
Failed to write cache file: No such file or director
:-(

Checking out a bit more ... after the update
ccsm doesn't show some icons ( the side bar ones) ... nautilus doesnt show icons ... all gray note-icons ....
wow ... very few icons around now.
I tried updating icon cache for every other directory ... but didnt work either
Offline
Somehow i managed to do the update with no errors ... but still the same problem :-( ... no fusion icon
after Cache file created successfully.

As of this post, I'm passing the torch of maintaining the Compiz Fusion Wiki to anyone who is interested. No need to contact me--simply update the wiki whenever changes are needed. I will not be making any further changes unless by chance I switch back to CF at a later date.
Currently, the wiki should probably reflect hypnos' comment from above, regarding Xfce desktops... but it doesn't... yet.
Cheers!

Hi there,
Since the last update 20070926-1 on compiz-fusion-git using the testing repo for gnome 2.20 ... I've been getting quite a lot of wierd stuff.
* Emerald draws borders for windows when they're actually shaded
* No compiz fusion icon (corrupted) as well as a lot of other icons ... for example in nautilus.
* Window switching crashes emerald every now n then.
Is anybody experiencing any of these problems ?

Repository syncing seems problematic this morning:

I've had that last one--emerald likes to crash. Although recently it's stopped, for some reason.
