I have atk, gtk2, libx11 and libwnck from testing
So do I , otherwise it doesn't start
Do you have the lastest build of compiz-fusion from nesl247's repo ?
I've just updated packages (all staff concerned with compiz-fusion) and I have gotten the same result as before.

venky80: Yes you need dbus in the daemon array in rc.conf. And there never was an apply button in emerald-theme-manager. It is an instant change. I think you can't do it because you don't have dbus started (think it might use dbus)
wantilles: I just hadn't removed it from the web, even though it wasn't technically in the repo.
v1_ad: You have to have fusion-icon running before fusion-icon-{tray,preferences} can work. And I'm sorry, but you _must_ use the testing repo's libwnck and such or else you will not be able to use compiz.

an answer, maybe have I to use xorg 7.3 to see the borders of windows with compiz active?
Offline
Compiz-core is in community actually newer (0.6), while in the repo we have only 0.5.2 and the git-version needs some libs from testing -> i don't want use testing too much.
When do you want to update your packages?

You need libwnck from testing.

i've already installed it, i've resolved with ln -s /usr/lib/libwnck-1.so.18 /usr/lib/libwnck-1.so.22

Guys, please do not start mix matching compiz and compiz fusion releases. I'm waiting for compiz fusion 0.6.2 and compiz 0.6.2 (since compiz already released, fusion is waiting on the bug revision for compiz) before I update the packages. As there is actually no compiz fusion 0.6.X release yet.
toketin, the compiz-core in community is not built on testing, thus you need to use the libwnck from extra if you use that.

@ nesl247
Since Gnome 2.20 [testing] has also been released for x86_64, is there any chance you would be building your x86_64 compiz-fusion packages on top of Gnome 2.20 [testing]?

but with compiz fusion of your repo i can't see the borders of windows, why?
i've discovered that some other users that have installed compiz fusion from your repo, and who has an nvidia card, has the same problem of borders....

wantilles, I don't build the 64bit packages. You'll have to wait for paul2lv to decide to use gnome 2.20.
toketin, try with LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=1 infront of the command you use to start compiz.

@wantilles
I am a little apprehensive of updating to Gnome 2.20, as the computer I build the 64 bit compiz-fusion packages on is also my main work/school computer.
However, if Gnome 2.20 is not moved out of testing this week, I'll probably go ahead and update and deal with the problems later.
Have you run into any major problems with the current Gnome 2.20 packages?

No.
Gnome 2.20 itself is fine.
But you must avoid at all costs the new xorg from [testing] - just take only the usual libx11 from there.
See more details here:

So avoid [testing] xorg at all costs.
And you get a fully working Gnome 2.20 with only the following from testing:
pacman -S gnome gnome-extra gnome-common gnome-themes-extras deskbar-applet totem-xine
I also built myself the compiz-fusion-git (2007-10-05) packages from your repo myself two days ago on top of this Gnome 2.20.
Everything is working flawlessly.

wantilles, xorg in testing is just fine. You need to make sure you have upgraded all xorg packages if you switch to testing. This is because xorg.sh which sets the XDG info (which makes the menus and such visible) got moved, so you have to make sure you get the right packages.

Are you sure that xorg in [testing] is fine?
Because the first (and only) time I tried it, [testing] was active (uncommented) in my pacman.conf and above all (first-mentioned) repositories.
So it got full priority.
And then I issued a:
pacman -Syu
so everything was pulled brand-new from [testing].
Now I cannot risk being unable to right in my native language as I also use my PC for my work.
PS: For the record, the same keyboard and keyboard layout problems were present with Xorg 6.9 during the major transition from the monolithic Xorg 6.8 to the modular 7.0, about a year ago.

Is anyone else missing window titles on their thumbnails and shift switcher? They were also missing in my Debian install. What's the deal?
