Re: July 2007 Screenshots

How did u make that title 'Openbox' above the applications menu?

And is it possible to center the words in Openbox menus?

It looks like there has been a slight change in the Openbox 3.4 menu syntax. You need to edit ~/.config/openbox/menu.xml according to this advice:

By modifying your ~/.Xdefaults you can get pretty much anything going with a terminal like urxvt. The true transparancy requires a composite manager and a modification to the alpha channel in Xdefaults. Mine looks like this:

urxvt*background: rgba:0000/0000/0000/aaaa

See "man urxvt" for details on all resources available.

I don't know if it's possible to center words, but all changes i've made has been done with the brilliant little app "obmenu". It's in the community repo.

Ah, I kinda guessed it was something like that. smile

But xcompmgr by itself isn't enough? At least I can't get this setting to do anything in evilwm or ion3.. does openbox handle the windows differently or something?

xcompmgr is all i'm using. I don't know if openbox handles windows differently. I've never tried evilwm or ion3..
I run it like this: "xcompmgr -cC -r7 -o.65 -l-10 -t-8 -D7  &"

See if that does the trick for you. smile
