The new PKGBUILD works great! The only problem is these lines at the top...I did a post on it before, but it spewed out some nasty errors on bootup. Can someone help me fix it? They look like this:
------ ------
------ ------
------ -------
And so on. They are the only thing wrong with it... Maybe a patch?
EDIT: They seem to have gone after (another) reboot. Don't worry about this

They seem to have come back...help!! This is the workaround:
Hi there,
I have the same problem. I dont know why, but i have noticed that when i run /sbin/splashy boot/shutdown/test this issue disappeared. So i edited /etc/rc.d/splashy and in the end of "start)" parameter i added the line:
# this will start splashy for 1 second and then it stops
/sbin/splashy shutdown 2> /dev/null && sleep 1 && killall splashyso, /etc/rc.d/splashy looks like this:
start)
(...)
/sbin/splashy_chvt ${CHVT_TTY} 2> /dev/null
/sbin/splashy shutdown 2> /dev/null && sleep 1 && killall splashy
(...)I know, this is a very ugly "patch", but at least it works for me
Help!

It's no longer the case. Splashy now works with initscripts-splash. So this semi-hackedy-fix would need reworking.
Anyway the bug seems upstream. I say bug splashy devs ;-)
a nail that sticks out, is hammered down.
aha.
