The shades are provided by xcompmgr, I use the following command:

xcompmgr -c -r 10

where -c is for enabling the shadows and -r indicates the size of the radius. Have fun

This screenshot is of FaunOS-0.3.2-usb.img which is archlinux based and boots from flash drive into 2GB of RAM in my system...all in RAM

Hope you like the system and the screenshot!
