Guys no flaming, it's not necessary is it? I run Arch as well. So what if I have an Ubuntu install on a spare partition. Could be worse, I could be running Vista ?

o sorry I didn't mean that. You may run whatever you like. Choice is a good thing, as is freedom of choice.
I was just wondering how they come up with these kind of names

It ain't flaming. It's just like posting your Windows/OS X setup in a Linux forum. This is the Arch forum after all, not some generic Linux help site .

Cool. I'm South African so I know how they got that name. Ubuntu is an African word meaning humanity to others. Anyways, I'm not African in the true sense, I'm a caucasian male however I was born and raised here.

Oh, from what I can see it's a screenshot section. I've seen people posting Windows screenshots here, maybe you missed those?

I'd like to add that I'm posting a Gnome desktop. I could easilly make my Arch Gnome desktop look the same so I'm not sure what you're getting at. Gnome is not an Arch thing.

After playing around, I decided to go with EvilWM as my window manager. It is small and supports virtual desktops. In my case, I have all borders set to black and set to 2 pixels width.
If anyone cares, the wallpaper is "wallpaper stripes green4" by 10r from DeviantArt. Computer specs:
Dell e520n
4GB RAM
Intel X3000 GPU
160GB HDD
Lite-On DVD Burner
Arch Linux 2007-08.2

That is the problem with dark themes if you use the rezlooks-engine. That is why I used the one based on the gtk-xfce-engine. If you like minimal and simple theme, download royalty if you like http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show. … tent=67866 and modify it instead.
yeah, i kinda guessed that i just love progress-bar and buttons on Rezlooks + overall simplicity.. i think i'm going to try something with xfce-engine..
thanks for reply

Trying out my new Arch logo concept...
In case anyone notices, Splashy is to blame for those little black dashes along the upper edge of my desktop.

Not much has changed. Evilwm, conky, urxvt, pidgin, screen, irssi, bash, scrot.
Also not visible are opera, gimp and swiftfox.

Arr, sorry, I renamed the file but forgot to rename the link... or something. I messed up with the filename a couple of times after posting the link, it should work now.
