Hmm.  Where did you get that clock script and what terminal are you using?  May I see your .Xdefaults?

Looks like urxvt and the clock script is actually ncmpc, a client for mpd (music player).

if you're going to use a tiling window manager, you might as well.. let it do some tiling?  tongue

also, how do you like fish?  i switched to it from the z-shell a couple months back, and i think it's great.

I used the floating windows for the screenshot, otherwise it is still in tile.
i don't use fish. (the shell ?)

@mienensuchkind: what's the vimperator option you're using to have your tabs show up below the status bar in firefox?

the original firefox tabs are hidden with some stylish script, and the list of tabs like in my screenshot can be toggled with "Shift+b"

Wow. I'll go look into this right away.

I found a firefox extension called "Hide Tab Bar", available on the mozilla addons website here.

It's not perfect (tabs must show for at least 1 ms before hiding), but it's better than having ugly tabs. Does anyone know of a tolerable firefox theme?

Re: November 2007 Screenshots

sure:

@namespace url(http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul);

@-moz-document url(chrome://browser/content/browser.xul) {
#content > tabbox .tabbrowser-strip{ display:none !important; }
.toolbox-top:hover + stack tabbrowser#content > tabbox .tabbrowser-strip, #content > tabbox .tabbrowser-strip:hover { display: -moz-box !important; }
}

Actually, the author intended to make the tabs autohiding... well at least for me they are never visible as long as this script is activated big_smile

Re: November 2007 Screenshots

Thanks mienensuchkind.
Something weird though: when I quit vimperator with "ZZ" or ":res", or anything that's supposed to keep my tabs open for next start, upon restarting all those tabs are blank (about:blank).

Why is hiding tabs so complicated? Again: does anyone know a good firefox theme?
