I probably should have made that clearer, What is playing the video, or can ncmpc do this? and I have just overlooked it.

Only gui app I know of that is annoying with tiling wm's is GIMP, and that's easily rectified with float.

Hmm, I think it's a mandolux piece or from deviantart, can't recall exactly.

Well, I gave both these sources a pretty thorough look-through, with no luck.  Is there any chance you could provide me with the filenames?  Or even email them to me or something?  Assuming you've kept them around, at any rate.

To each his own. There's nothing wrong iwht using transparency, or GUI apps with tiling window managers. You can even use something like Avant Window Manager and use only GUI apps. It still works. After all, you can run XMonad on Mac OSX smile

Re: January 2008 Screenshots

Although I use mainly CLI apps, I agree most GUI apps can work well with a tiling wm as they nearly all have good keyboard shortcuts.  One in particular is pidgin, turn off conversation tabbing, contacts on the right hand side with 3 or 4 master (convo) windows on the left, using Mod4+J/K to switch conversation.  You can even stick your most important convo on more tabs. Works like a charm in my opinion.

i agree, but that is only the case if you are using solid color wallpapers. having wallpapers full of letters and graphics is only for screenshots.
for every day use they are unbearable. by anyone not just me

Re: January 2008 Screenshots

It's true that wallpaper can occasionally (white on white) cause trouble and I have been meaning to Gimp it or find a better alternative for a little while now. smile

Lets see if I have resolved it in Feb wink

@Reasons: Your fonts look very nice :-), what are the settings you are using to get them to render like that?

Thanks.
