I thought this'd be be as good a place to ask as any; anyone else struggle to set wallpaper in GQview?

It's easy enough to do in openbox -- I configured a bash script for Esetroot as an editor, and now I can run it on any image in GQView that I want to set.  If you don't care about the fancy gradient backgrounds that Xfce can do, maybe that general idea could work for you as well.

It's much more simple, in the settings of gqview, you can create own commands for the edit and right-click menu, so you add for example "feh --bg-scale %f" or "feh --bg-tile %f" to the right-click-menu and you're done.

Yes, I use the root-setter as an editor in GQView.

The reason I use Esetroot and a script is because feh can't scale images properly -- it doesn't maintain aspect ratio, so the image is stretched (distorted) if it doesn't match your monitor.  I also use feh at times -- it depends on the image.  My script for Esetroot just displays the image and writes to .fehbg so that it persists over future logins -- and it also appends to a .bghistory file I keep so that if I want to add a wallpaper to my menu, I can just copy and paste the command from there.

Not pictured here but ToggleFullScreen action FTW!

Makes tiling WM obsolete in my case since all I ever use it for is fullscreening applications anyways.

Is it possible to post that wallpaper ? smile

Its been about 3 weeks now that I've been free of windows.

Love it.

Once again google arch wiki and the forums have been extremely helpful with the transition.

Could you please share your wallpaper?

I don't live in America. Those pictures would be inappropriate at many white-collar jobs, no matter what country you're in.

I have switched to linux in December. I have used Ubuntu for a month. Then I switched to Arch. The desktop looks the same. Is that ubuntu logo in the corner bothering you? Do you want me to take a new screenshot just because 100px^2 have the ubuntu logo? big_smile
