Nice set-up - could you let me know what irssi theme that is (or tell me where to look if you've already answered this before)
@ anyone: does anyone have an updated openlogos font or similar with the new arch logo?

The irssi theme is called "skeita" afaik. Scroll through this thread, moparx is the one who linked it.

@Gigamo - that was quick, much appreciated

Here is my VERY MINIMAL desktop who needs window decorations...

flack 2.0.6: menu-driven BASH script to easily tag FLAC files (AUR)
knock-once 1.2: BASH script to easily create/send one-time sequences for knockd (forum/AUR)

Here's mine, Compiz-Fusion standalone (the panel is bmpanel). The usability still needs a tad bit of work, but it's already quite good-looking and fast.
(I'm still trying to find a way to prevent inactive windows from dropping a shadow. Well, it's probably right under my eyes...)
I recently fell in love with Tilda. See? A single key press to switch between my desktop and a nice full-screen screen session.
P.S.: The light hurts my eyes .

Just curios, but what WM/DE are you using?

It's compiz-fusion alone without a DE, directly exec'd from my xinitrc.

Really? I didn't know you could use Compiz-Fusion alone without any DE. I have to try this out.
Learns new thing everyday.

Well, it's a window manager like Openbox, Awesome & Co. But you'd better have at least a keyboard shortcut for xterm set in your Flat-File compiz configuration before you try logging into it, otherwise you'll have a nice black screen on which you can't do anything (except notice that your Desktop Wall/Cube still works and switches from one black screen to the other ).
(I myself realized that that less than one week ago, since then I've been trying to turn it into an usable system, but it's actually even harder than other WM's because compiz really isn't intended to be used like that, and doesn't setup anything by itself.)

Yep it's Xfce and the WM is Compiz/Emerald, Still havn't got around to setting up openbox on this distro yet. But Xfce is growing on me again

Thanks, and yeah it's the skeita theme I stole from moparx with the "nickcolor" and "title" scripts.

Can you link that nickcolor script?

I like the way you colour just the ~ in your username@hostname part in your terminal, could I see your .bashrc
Edit: Sure Gigamo, it's here http://irssi.org/scripts/scripts/nickcolor.pl

Nice desktop. May I see your .xinitrc?
My .xinitrc simply executes this script:
#!/bin/bash
xbindkeys
kdeinit &
eval `cat ~/.fehbg`
sleep 1
bmpanel custom &
tilda &
/usr/lib/wicd/tray.py &
conky -c ~/.conkyrc2 &
LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT=true compiz --replace --sm-disable ccp
As for a bit more detail:
- my bmpanel "custom" theme is simply all white.
- tilda is full-screen, with my wallpaper as backgorund image.
That's basically it.
As for the shell, it's fish with the default colors.

It would be great if we could run only compiz features on any Wm / Dm , only the features, like shadows effects not titlebars and those ugly themes, since xcompmgr is still a bit "strange" to use with some Wm or when interacting with other applications like conky for example.
