I tried some vsync settings with the nvidia driver, nothing worked perfectly.

Wallpaper (although edited a little to remove some contrast)
Gtk2 and OB themes are still being hacked together.

...Look close enough and you'll see pypanel's clock misbehaving

Re: February 2008 Screenshots

I know that it depends on you Wm too, i have tried other Wms where xcomp fails completly or is just useless, though i believe xcomp is a discontinued software, as so it has no more bug fixes or whatever, but as far as im concerned i prefer a bad xcomp than a good beryl, although mine is acting good only had problems with some versions of fluxbox. I dont know if there is any app that can do the same as xcomp ... sad

xcompmgr works here quite good and fast with aiglx and openbox with a radeon 9600xt on my workstation and with a intel i810 on my thinkpad - you can find my configs on my website.

Re: February 2008 Screenshots

ive just discovered the magic of screen.

200802071748481680x1050sa1.th.png

can people recommend good terminal apps for listening to music?  or anything else i might be interested in?

Im using Gnome + compiz-fusion.
Metacity theme is Cobra metacity.
I use terminus fonts for terminals.

The metacity theme is good because Eclipse is still usable with it.  Lots of dark themes make Eclipse unusable.

im still experimenting with screenrc so there are some commented out lines in here:

caption always
shell zsh
caption string "%0c [ %w ] %H"
defscrollback 2000
startup_message off
sorendition s 20
activity "Some action at %t (%n)!"

i dont get any warnings for activity, but Im happy enough with it, for now.

I love MOC. Lots of people go for MPD with MPC or NCMPC, but MOC is much less hassle.

flack 2.0.6: menu-driven BASH script to easily tag FLAC files (AUR)
knock-once 1.2: BASH script to easily create/send one-time sequences for knockd (forum/AUR)

Re: February 2008 Screenshots

moc is great - also recommended - it's what I use for music.

rtorrent & screen work great together if you're into the bittorrent scene.

there is also raggle which is a commandline RSS reader.

mutt or alpine for email.

Yep, flawlessly. Just disable PunkBuster & you're good to go (assuming patched Wine) wink
PS. gthumb also can't set a wallpaper...
