Re: Slim Theme Darch

What is this theme for? KDM? GDM? What? It's beautiful.

It is for the slim login manager, a light-weight, minimal dependency X login manager. See SLiM - Simple Login Manager for more information.

Very nice work. Kudos to the two post wonder big_smile

Hehe. Same here! I have been using one of thayer's Underlight Slim theme but we want to be up to date don't we tongue. I guess I'll have Slim pick randomly between both big_smile.

Re: Slim Theme Darch

hmm, this login theme doesnt play nice with my dual-monitor setup...
it stretches across both monitors leaving the login box and the logo split in half between the two screens...
the default slim theme does not behave this way...
any way to work this?

You've also inspired me to make a similar one for my FreeBSD setup. If anyone here uses FreeBSD and is interested in a slim theme for it, I'll post it.

Could you please post it?  I realize that it's been a while, perhaps I should send an email...

Re: Slim Theme Darch

Here's an image:

slimfreebsdlk0.th.png

You can get a tarball here. It contains the files necessary for the slim theme and the Gimp file I used to make the FreeBSD logo image. Note that I have a 1920x1200 monitor and I set up the theme for that. If you have a different screen resolution you may have to tweak it a little. The FreeBSD logo image is my first thing ever with Gimp. I wasn't completely happy with it, but it was good enough for the time I was willing to spend.

Please feel free to modify and distribute.

Regards,
j

@jbromley: Thanks!  This is a nice theme; I'll tweak it for my resolution...

Re: Slim Theme Darch

I'm glad you like it. I think it is clean and simple and maybe even elegant. If you do tweak it for other screen sizes would you please send the tweaked versions back to me? Eventually I'd like to have a full set of resolutions.

Thanks and regards,
j

All I did was change 'background_style' to stretch.  Worked fine on my 1280*1024...

That looks great, gleidson! Would you consider doing a version where the "arch" is white instead of grey?

Here is the new panel.png with the "arch" in white.  Just download it and move it to /usr/share/slim/themes/darch overwriting the previous panel.png

http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/42/panel2qr9.th.png

For the splashy-theme-darch I need the white panel.png with a resolution of 533x607.
Scaling up the .png in your package results in a little bit "unsharp" image. Have you the panel-white image in svg format or in higher resolutions?
