Re: Daily KDE4 Subversion Packages

I'm continuing to maintain the non-split ones, too...  However, there is an interesting bug in git that causes it to sometimes fail when executed inside a bash script.  Makes things interesting.  Right now, everything is building except for:

kde-qt, kdebindings, kdevplatform, and kdevelop.

Re: Daily KDE4 Subversion Packages

little update here. I switched from KDE to XMonad last month so I'm not testing my packages anymore nor do I really care about maintaining them as there is a lot to do at university. Also syncing with markc's server doesn't work at the moment. This is something I'll try to fix today but if there is noone using my split packages I'll stop building them. So who wants to use them?

Re: Daily KDE4 Subversion Packages

That's interesting, there has been no access to the stephan pkg area for the past week but today 14 unique IPs pulled 2000 packages. Perhaps a last minute grab before they're gone, or your posting notified some folks that they exist at all. Please send me any debug/error output for an update. Probably perms on the server. It works for me but setting it up for someone else was/is ornery.

I've been happy with pekwm for a few months because it has very good edge detection options, things like RMB on right edge can switch to next desktop, so if I could manage to hack that into kwin I'd consider moving back to KDE (and therefor consider packaging from svn/Git again). I just got a new lappie with W7 preinstalled (first time I've seen W7) but I'm having trouble with burning CD/DVDs so just now I installed Kubuntu 9.10 via Wubi and after a dozen hours messing around with both of them I gotta say KDE (4.4beta) looks every bit as good as W7/Aero plus being a lot more flexible.. just not quite as stable and rock solid smooth as W7, but that's nothing another year of QA won't sort out. IMHO I feel that 4.4 will be the first version that starts to move past where 3.5.10 was but it'll take maybe till 4.5 for it to become stable and trouble free enough to seriously take on W7.
