My xfce panel disappeared

I recently decided to try out the xfce desktop and have quite enjoyed it, but my panel has disappeared.   When I try to open the Panel Manager under settings nothing happens.  I would like it back; please help.
Thank You

Re: My xfce panel disappeared

Check out this older post and it might give you some ideas http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=38939.  Also to get back your panel you should be able to type in xfce4-panel in a console to get it back.

Re: My xfce panel disappeared

I have it back now, thank you for your help.
I had tried what was recommended on the old post earlier but with no luck.  I'm not sure why it worked this time and not the first (probably the result my own screw up the first time) but I'm not to complain.

Thank you

Re: My xfce panel disappeared

I ran into this problem and ended up adding xfce4-panel to the list of startup apps in menu>settings>autostarted application
