For external USB drives, dont bother adding them to your fstab, since if they are not plugged in while booting you will have a headache. And if you dont add them to your fstab then you can just mount them later, if you are a member of the group disk, and storage; have /etc/fstab created properly, and finally have ntfs-3g installed.

Is ntfs-3g without fuse faster than ntfs-3g with fuse?
