Seems like that was the reason why he quit. From his blog :

Umm. Wow. Can anyone find a source on that? I just hope they license it under BSD instead of freakin' CDDL...

It might be possible that we can continue working on OSS for few more months or years. However I don't see it possible to wait until the final end. I need to find another job.

I will continue working on OSS on my spare time. However it's impossible to predict how much spare time there will be in the future.
