Re: A new lightweight music manager

Thanks again...

My wishlist... XD
* Enqueue tracks songs.....
* Play/Pause doing central click in system tray.... And volume with the wheel of the mouse.. XD
* Complete searches. At the moment only it filters the songs that begin with the writing...
* Better support for pulseaudio...

Only a pair of suggestions... Surely you will have your own priorities…!

Luck…

Re: A new lightweight music manager

Thanks for the 'restore playlist' option, it's working very nice. ^_^

I'm waiting for the 'show OSD on mouse over in tray icon' option. big_smile

Re: A new lightweight music manager

wow great player! congrats! working very nice in Openbox 64bits.

I do have a pretty serious bug, if i drag anything from the library to the playlist it segfaults.
and i'm missing AAC support, but that is just another kick for me to switch to OGG tongue
and maybe album art download but i thing then it would be getting bloated again :S

otherwise great great work

Re: A new lightweight music manager

Okay, so the real website is up now: http://consonance.sourceforge.net. A bunch of stuff still needs to be done, but for the moment it should suffice.

PM me if you have any suggestions.

Re: A new lightweight music manager

I was searching for a lightweight player to use on a 650MHz PC with XFCE and Consonance seems to be the perfect one for this purpose. smile Do you consider localization?

Thanks,

Re: A new lightweight music manager

great player indeed! small, decent and fast!

but there are some features i would appreciate:
* manual metadata editing > right click on file > edit metadata
* search for lyrics on the web
* copy playing file from another directory to the collection
* check changes in the collection on startup
* assign actions (play/pause, next song ... ) to hot keys

Localization would be nice to have, if people contribute translations. smile

Well, tag editing is in the pipeline, and I'll look into the others as well.
And there are a bunch of command line options that you can map to your window manager's key bindings.
See 'consonance --help'

Re: A new lightweight music manager

I could make the German and Russian translations. Just post where to get a .po template when you have set Consonance up for translation. smile

Re: A new lightweight music manager

First, what an excellent program. This has enabled my partial move from moc, Thanks.

One feature request; I might be missing something but is it possible to save and load .m3u or a simpler type of playlist? This is the one thing that is keeping me from adopting consonance on a daily basis.

Thanks!

Re: A new lightweight music manager

How about implementing gapless playback (is this a music player or what?) before the kitchen sink?

Re: A new lightweight music manager

I am using this on a regular basis, and aside from some minor glitches, I really like it. Some things I would like to see solved:
- remembering the playlist (and position?) after shutdown
- in File-mode, possibility to set the default folder
- is it really necessary to scan through the whole folder if you added 20 songs? (I really don't know, just asking)

Also, gapless playback would be nice.

If this translation-thing gets started, I'm willing to provide the dutch translation. This looks like the perfect project to start (really) contributing to the community (hopefully easing my way into it)

Zl.

Re: A new lightweight music manager

first of all, thanks for this great app, that's now my one and only music player, really like it. I just have one issue: when a file is not tagged, it appears completely blank. so, no idea if that would be difficult or even possible but in the case there's no tag, could consonance show the file name?

TIA

edit/ in the file view, it would be great to be able to make multiple files selection with SHIFT and/or CTRL (this works in the library view)
