how do you get the workspaces to look like that and also to come onto one desktop like that ? I have seen others where it is a cube that the person can spin around to get to the other desktops or workspaces?

If you mean the cylinder, its a a plugin from Compiz-Git - http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Compiz_Fusion_Git

thank you now I will have to check this out

Why do you have Pidgin and Kopete running at the same time?

EDIT: Where'd you get the awesome Opera icon?

Re: May 2008 Screenshots

I did get a bit of an influence from the fvwm config by droog and here's the result so far. It's kind of a mix of what I was going to do and selective copy-paste of some fvwm config parts from droog.

Clean with info box

And a few apps just to show the way I'm (possibly) heading
08-05-26-01:52_dirty-thumb.png

Icons are Brit icons from gnome-look.org which I've recolored from orange-n-blue to a sort of red-n-green

EDIT: Forgot to mention.. On top of the screen, there's FvwmPager, tint2 and stalonetray with sonata, osmo and pidgin

This is really nice looking. When you said ETK theme, did you meant the Enlightenment theme?

The Enlightenment Window Manger is not built on ETK. There is no ETK code in the primary theme.

Yeah I probably should have made that more clear... It's enlightenment-centric applications that are built with ETK, for instance the MPD client that's packaged with E17.

Re: May 2008 Screenshots

@sm4tik

are the panels/pager etc part of fvwm?

Im wanting to try fvwm and i think the unified panels etc could draw me away from openbox, rather than having to use separate apps tongue

Oh, forgot to say and yes, they're all separate. FvwmPager (fvwm module), tint2 and stalonetray. One thing that is completely missing from fvwm is a tray app, but other than that, one can do almost everything with the built in modules. It just takes a while to configure... but hey, you're using arch already so I'd assume that the configuring won't scare you away wink
Cheers
