Oh yes, I remember the Z machine... Have they gotten anywhere with that thing yet, or is fusion via such a gizmo never going to get to the break-even point?

(I have my bets on the latter...)

the task bar in the panel is a plugin you have to install it, http://www.os-cillation.com/article.php?sid=45 is an easy way to get the plugins.
and then killall xftaskbar4

Nothing happens, i cant seem to even turn it off? I can swap over the windowlist and sys tray, but the rest? There doesnt seem to be an option at all for turning off the taskbar

EDIT: Ahh it was a plugin got it working now, its in extra smile

magnum_opus, will that stop the taskbar starting from then on?

EDIT2: Nevermind its all sweet now

Re: [CLOSED - SEE MONTHLY STICKIES] Arch Desktop Screenshots

it's not a task switcher it's a shameles ripoff of http://quicksilver.blacktree.com/, i got too used to approcket on windows (launchbar on macs) so soon as i found out that there was vague equivalent i grabbed it.
basically just boot up launch-box (i have it set to alt+space) type in a couple letters of the program you want and hit enter. it exits and starts your app, also works on certain files. think Beagle but dumber (well actually designed for launching things instead of finding things)

now quicksilver/approcket/launchbar do indexed search of a much larger range of files, but i take what i can get and it's only v .1

http://developer.imendio.com/wiki/GNOME_Launch_Box

there's a similar rip off for KDE called Katapult but i haven't been able to get that one to work so i don't know if it's better.
