I've got a comment about the topic title. Here in southamerica it's not summer.

How'd you get gdesklets to work on arch?

What i did is install the Arch gdesklets package then go to http://gdesklets.gnomedesktop.org/ and download the ones you want.
Then run gdesklets on it's own from the command line then stop it
then cd to the desklet dir you have an run gdesklets <desklet-name> you should be returned to the command prompt them run gdesklets again and it should be there for you to place on the desktop

I tried loading cpuload.display but was getting errors
/opt/gnome/bin/gdesklets:65: DeprecationWarning: the 'argc' parameter is optional and deprecated
client.set_restart_command(1, [sys.argv[0]])
gDesklets 0.26.2
Copyright (C) 2003, 2004 The gDesklets Team
This software is licensed under the terms of the GNU GPL.
Also I was getting pop up errors saying cpuload was not found or faulty....
Any ideas

(Thinking of putting this in Wiki if it works!!!)

Your desktop is really something. Would you happen to know of a good fvwm2 tutorial by any chance? I'd like to give it a go.

@sweiss, the only thing I found that helped me where the man pages on fvwm.org and there is a thread in gentoo forums about 55 pages long started by taviso(who many people base there configs from)
here that has alot of great tips and people have posted config's.
@rasat
I wouldn't mind a bit, the only problem is I can't share the images because they are copyrighted and putting them on a distibutable disk would surely have people emailing me dirty emails. The config would have to be edited from top to bottom to add other(non-copyrighted) images and it is quite long.
So, it would really be useless.
I don't mind sending you just the .fvwm2rc if that's what you want.

I'm using ROX Filer, some ROX apps and Fluxbox devel with GTK apps...I'm still ironing some things out (how should I iconify programs? hmmm...) and it already looks a bit different, but...
It's cool as hell. ROX rules and everything is clickable and dragable. Very cool and intuitive.
