But what about the whole thing with the no matching delta? Was there a solution for that?
Offline
There is no information about that in the thread.
In the 4th post the OP writes (regarding the post i translated earlier):
Hi Poppei!
Thanks very much for your guidance - I didn't have time to try it until now.
AND EVERYTHING WORKS!! :->
THANKS again!
It seems that the instructions solved the delta error for him.
The is one other thing: a link to a german ubuntu-wiki page which is based on the thread. If you need one I can provide a translation sometime tomorrow. But maybe you can extract something usefull without it: http://editwiki.ubuntuusers.de/Spiele/SimCity_3000

Your error message means that there is no file in the update matching your file (s3cu.dynamic). If you really care, read the source here http://svn.icculus.org/loki_patch/branc … pathrev=81
For some reason, your sc3u.dynamic is not the same file that the patch expects. Maybe you already have the newest version, but I would think that loki_patch would check for that. Your file might be corrupted, but I would think that the installer would check for that...
Anyway, my suggestion is:
Follow the outline in my previous post (or in the translation by gothmog, they are kinda identical), but skip the patch step. See if that helps.

It's working now! Thanks for the help, gnud and gothmod.todi! Now, perhaps I can sell off my CD's for the windoze versions of Sim City 3000 and Sim City 3000 Unlimited.

It was interesting to help out
Just to satisfy my curiosity, what did you do to make it work? Was it the compatability library?
Offline
Yes, the compatibility library did it, along with this command:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/mystinar/Games/Loki_Compat/ /home/mystinar/Games/Loki_Compat/ld-linux.so.2 /opt/games/SC3U/sc3u.dynamic -intro:off
I've been running the game, and from what I can tell, it came pre-patched. And the game has been running flawlessly. I'm going to put the game onto my other computer, and see how well it runs on it.
