Wow. This piece of artwork is truly awesome, I'd say! I would go as far as to say, that it colourwise surpasses the original Arch artwork.

and YET another variant... this time the Sunburst / C design is made up of more K and A logos, and is smaller around the C in Chakra.

I like it better. The other one made me think of Ubuntu. Well done!

Although it is kind of weird to be using the "Archer" logo and the KDE 'K' in this way...

how so?
from my understanding, this is to be used for a new liveCD based on Arch + KDE4.... figured i'd use the best identifying features from BOTH logos...
and yeah it did look ALOT like ubuntu, which is what i use... i didn't realize til i booted my ubuntu lappy... and then i jus said "damn..." lol
i'm not really even familiar with either arch OR kde..
i actually only did a logo cuz nophun told me to lol
i'm what you call a NOOB.

Re: In need of some good artwork or: We need a logo and colors :)

LOL.

I'd expect to see the 'A' and 'K' shown once in the Chakra logo. Cloning them 5-6 times sort of removes their meaning.

I like how the letters in "chakra" resemble the letters in the arch logo.

MORE than just resemble.. LOL
they're take from the arch text IN the logo..
as is the K taken from KDE logo..

the starburst C is supposed to resemble the hindu depiction of one of the seven chakras. figured it'd be cool to recreate that with the A and K logos...
even though the A and K are both already represented in the text.
well to each his own.
if no one else likes it cuz there's too many a's and k's in there, then someone feel free to take my idea and make it better, i guess.

Wow, a lot of good stuff has been posted here... Thanks for that!

There is still plenty of time left until we put out a first testing release, and we will choose what we like the most when we are in "polishing mode" smile

Again, thanks very much for the support!

want a modular and tweaked KDE for arch? try kdemod

I Really like the Starburst with the K's and A's, I do not think that lose any meaning in this style.
I also don't think its necessary to have the arch or KDE logos, but supreme found away to make a nifty use of them smile

The new one from supereme is nice .. The colors make me happy big_smile

slemKaffe's are  nice, The red one is a improvment smile

nice job all smile

Re: In need of some good artwork or: We need a logo and colors :)

Hello guys. I've done something very quickly just to give you some ideas. I was thinking...why don't we use a buddha at the logo? something funny, like a little buddha. After all, the name of the ditro will be "Chackra" (who chose it? :S haha). The mini buddha could be our "Tux".

Well, using the logo sandsmark provided (which I plan to change it because its the Arch logo) and a picture from the wikipedia I've done this sh*t:

chakrasyogi2eb2.jpg

I know it is awful. Is just to give you some ideas... (obviously this buddha isn't funny haha).
Maybe tomorrow (if I have some free time) I'll make something better.

P.D: Note the detail that the logo is hanging from his eyebrows hahahahha.

Re: In need of some good artwork or: We need a logo and colors :)

Thanks, foxbunny, for the submissions. I love the first logo (post #40), but I would say, that the second is looking more professional. You should go for a combination of font #1 and logo #2.

I can almost imagine some login animation using this logo - looking like a whirlwind.

I prefer the second logo because it's more chakra-like, although not entirely so. I'll try the first version's typography, though. Will post tomorrow, to tired tonite. tongue

I love the lowercase version of that font and the logos, but I would definitely go with the different shades of blue you showed us in the first image. The second ones look pale and sad.

Outstanding work foxbunny, thank you very much.

Thanks, man. I love ya, too! smile

@Xaratur:
I want the design to work on black, because that's what KDEmod's been using, and I love that slick black theme. wink
At the same time, I'd love to make it also work on silver, and it'd be nice to have a silver theme for KDEmod as well. tongue I'll figure something out.
