Re: Arch Case Badges

Hey guys. I got my badges a bit ago, and just slapped one on my laptop. Actually two, but I mucked the first one up, and ended up putting it on the top of the laptop instead of the palm rest. Didn't feel right to me on the palm rest, but whatever you wanna do.

3 pics of my the arch badge on my t61

messing with that new drop box thing and took some pictures in terrible light with my bad phone camera. Might help you get a decent grip of the size of the badges or whatever.

I think it looks great on there and I appreciate the work you guys put into making this happen *hats off*

edit: upon further reflection, those pictures are pretty bad. Size is about the only thing you could garner from them. the badges look *excellent*. I'll try to post better ones after work.

Re: Arch Case Badges

Got my badges yesterday. The silver one looks great on my HP dv6000. It may be a bit to large and thick on a laptop, so maybe it's an idea to order them a bit smaller and thinner as well, just for laptops. Stickers like those Vista (ahum, sorry for that) and Nvidia laptop badges, I mean.

I don't have any on round stickers but if you like I can create some no sweat.

But I won't put these on my lappy! The size... Stickers like those I linked to in my previous post would be nice as well.

Re: Arch Case Badges

@Dusty Yes, I would love some rounded "Powered by Arch" to replace my Windows Vista stickers on my 3 laptops.  I don't want a bumper sticker though.

Re: Arch Case Badges

I've put a silver badge on my laptop but the sticker with the Arch logo just peeled of by itself after less than a week. I'm not rough with my laptop and almost did not carried it around lately. That leaves me with a silver square on my computer... pretty disappointing, especially since it looked pretty good while it lasted.

I'm very sad to hear that, I hope others in the batch don't turn out like that. :-( Which was your order, if you send me a photo of the defective badge we'll ship you a replacement.

They actually don't take long to deliver once they're in the mail, but Simo hasn't had time to put out a shipment since the 17th... I apologize for the delay on his behalf, I think he's in the middle of midterms.

Re: Arch Case Badges

Hey guys,

As some of you know, case badges sold out last year and I had put off reordering until spring. Spring is hear and the badges are on their way. Simo should be getting them in a couple weeks and he will start shipping at his leisure. I've re-enabled the case badge order form on http://schwag.archlinux.ca/ and you can order your badges today!

I'd also like to remind people that laptop bags are on preorder and there are only a few USB keys left, order away.

Same issue here. Probably a month or two after purchase. Arch sticker on top of the metallic badge started to peel from the corner. Probably due to how the badges are mass cut. I solved it by cutting the corner edge diagonally with an exacto knife [just the sticker not the metallic part]. I still have a backup in case it starts peeling again close to the graphic. I wonder if it's possible to somehow have a badge where the image is burned into it or something similar - so the problem of peeling is avoided.

I think the badges would look better with this template that Dusty posted earlier in the thread: http://www.zazzle.com/powered_by_arch_l … 5349287279

I suppose the production cost might increase due to the rounded corners thou?

Re: Arch Case Badges

I just found out about these, but the store (http://schwag.archlinux.ca/product/badge/) only lets me order silver ones.

Are there any white ones left?

Re: Arch Case Badges

http://schwag.neotuli.net/ seems to be down (connecting from Spain).

I am waiting to order one of the round case badges. I have one of those big emachines E's right in the middle of my laptop case which will look very nice with an Arch case sticker over the top. Has to be round and silver though.
