While making this month's theme (see post #2), I have also tried something like that, though I chose not to have a top border, instead coloured the titlebar to the same colour the borders are, and gave it the same height as the borders' thickness.

The drawback is that you can't have fancy window edges on the top, only the good ol' rectangular one and cant resize it upwards, however, you can grab the titlebar with the mouse (and therefore move the window without pushing Alt, or whatever shortcut you use) and right-click on it as well. Visually the same, functionally a bit different. ^^

I know! It looks like we're on the same page this month as far as WM tastes big_smile
I hadn't thought of using the titlebar as a simulated border, but after a stint of using tiling wm's a while back I guess I thought it would be faster and easier to just learn some basic keyboard shortcuts.

Question: Is that the Pekwm CMDDIALOG in your screenshot, or is it something like gmrun? Either way, please tell me how to add text like that; it's very nice!

Could you give more info about your setup? What DE/WM, theme, etc. did you use?

Thanks! big_smile
I'm using openbox.
The openbox-theme is made by me, i'll release it soon!
The gtk-theme is this one: [link], but it is not released yet. (I'll release my theme with his one smile)
My icon theme was generated with tango-generator. It's called Foxy.

Is your OpenBox theme is the arch.blue theme, but changed the colors black and blue to white and green?

Yup, looks like we are. wink

It is gmrun. By "adding text like that" I don't really know what you mean. roll

Switched to Oxygen icons and Qtcurve, and replaced pypanel with LXpanel.

Exactly the same as July except for that I have conky instead of gkrellm now... and I still haven't really decided on colours for conky yet.

Re: August 2008 Screenshots

Working on an Openbox setup, similar to my Awesome setup. Just started configuring pypanel today, still needs a lot of work there. Considering other panels, or no panel depending on whatever influence I seem to fall under during this period.
