Real advantage to have some sort of "support team" is not for the emergency but for minor regression bugs or enhancement request.
What should the "support team" do in these cases? "Someone"
needs to write patches for this. I wouldn't expect someone to suddenly step up and do this, just because you call him "community projects support manager".
Some task are just closed because "We dont support 3rd party tools".
Community projects deserve more consideration.
