TMSNC is more or less perfect, but it doesn't work anymore.

Tried it, but found it rather cumbersome. Might be just me but nothing really felt logical. I couldn't get unicode to work either.

Not much has changed. I just fiddled with the conky a little bit and added xcompmgr for some slight shadows:

Arch64 with Openbox, running urxvt, conky, tint2 and pcmanfm
That's an awesome desktop.
1. Can you post your conkyrc?
2. What's that font you're using for the time?
3. Care to share the wallpaper?
4. What GTK theme are you using?

What's that cool font you're using with Pidgin? How are you able to use it with Pidgin?

All credit goes to Sen for the conky config and the fonts. I merely adapted his downloadable config to my needs/wants (removed and added some things).
You can find Sen's config here (last post of page 5):

The GTK2 theme is another modified version of the famous Elegant Brit theme. It's called Elegant Grid and you can find it here:

I might or might not have said those fonts look mighty clean in Firefox. What's your .fonts.conf/do you use any other special font settings in Firefox or so?

sorry mate! i completely forgot to reply earlier! regarding fonts in firefox, i didn't do nething special. all i did was change the default font setting in firefox under preferences to liberation sans 16. thats all. the general font settings were also not overtly played around with . i use system settings for anti aliasing and force fonts to 96dpi, with subpixel smoothing and slight hinting.

After seeing your screenshot, I reinstalled the liberation fonts and I liked them. Before (around one year before) they weren't this good.
