I'd like to give a tiling manager a whirl, can one of you give a config to get me started? Much appreciated.

phisphere wrote:i would appreciate when someone could help me with multimedia keys in awesome3. in awesome2, it was enough to just add XF86AudioRaiseVolume as a keybindig key with amixer command, but in 3 it doesn't work anymore...
-- Volume keybinding({ }, "XF86AudioRaiseVolume", function () awful.spawn("amixer -q set PCM 5%+ unmute") end):add() keybinding({ }, "XF86AudioLowerVolume", function () awful.spawn("amixer -q set PCM 5%- unmute") end):add() keybinding({ }, "XF86AudioMute", function () awful.spawn("amixer -q set Master toggle") end):add()
@phisphere, I don't know If you have already solved it, but I have found this
--{{{ Fn keys keybinding( {none}, "XF86AudioMute", function () awful.spawn("amixer -c 0 set Master toggle") end):add() keybinding( {none}, "XF86AudioRaiseVolume", function () awful.spawn("amixset +") end):add() keybinding( {none}, "XF86AudioLowerVolume", function () awful.spawn("amixset -") end):add()

Yeah it's tint at the bottom for 1200 px. then trayer. The conky is a modified version of one I found on lifehacker here: http://lifehacker.com/5068294/beautiful … onky-setup . It has setup instructions and scripts right on the page.
I couldn't remember where in the hell I got the wallpaper from so I had to upload it:
Here is my tint config:

I got tired of someone telling me Linux wasn't windows, I never could get that BSOD to work right in Linux
IceWM .... and a theme, was definately faster using icewm on the older machine than it was to use kde4.x.
Edit..... yeah, i was just bored...
Fooled a few people for a min or two though lol.
I just told em it was M$'s new and improved vista.
