Re: dmraid not recognizing raid arrays.

I can confirm that several users on IRC have this problem -- please file a bug report.

Re: dmraid not recognizing raid arrays.

i fix this issue with downgrade dmraid to dmraid-1.0.0.rc14-4. Here you can find corrected PKGBUILD (corrected url) with scripts and compiled package (Remember to do mkinitcpio after install).
It seems that problem ocures after first mkinitcpio afer upgrading to dmraid-1.0.0.rc15-5.

Re: dmraid not recognizing raid arrays.

And how do I downgrade dmraid with the installation disk? Because my whole system isn't accessible anymore I can only use the installation media, mount the raid partitions and chroot into the system. But my system runs now 2.6.27 vs 2.6.25 from the installation media and therefore mkinitcpio doesn't run properly. Any hints?

Update: I've found the magic switches mkinitcpio -g /boot/kernel26.img -k 2.6.27-ARCH and have a working system again. After a huge shock...

Cheers
Felix

I fixed my system from ubuntu 8.10 livecd (runed from usb through UNetbootin) and there was no problems.
I just mounted my arch partition to /arch
then mount /proc and /dev

mount --bind /proc /arch/proc
mount --bind /dev /arch/dev

then chrooted to it.
downgraded dmraid (pacman -U dmraid-1.0.0.rc14-4-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz), and upgraded kernel (from /var/cache/pacman/pkg) so it rebuild mkinitcpio.

Re: dmraid not recognizing raid arrays.

What's going with getting the current dmraid package fixed so people don't have to downgrade? Anyone trying to install arch on a fakeraid is going to hit this problem and might not find this thread.
