Re: January 2009 Screenshots

I never managed to get conky to render itself with certain opacity level - it was always either a non-transparent window, or fully transparent window, where the whole window background became transparent. I wanted something like 60% opacity -- to create a blending sidebar effect. Is this possible?

this is very nice (as are most of the others to be honest).  May I ask where you all get wallpapers like this?  they literally look like wallpaper, and I think it is very tasteful compared to the distracting images some people use (i'm lookin at you anime fans...).

i don't know if any of you recognize my name, but I am migrating over to this wonderful linux community from gentoo as I have been banned from OTW for like 2 months now (don't worry i'm harmless).

I beg to differ! Anime related wallpapers can be tasteful as well. tongue
Besides that, didn't you have an anime/manga ava and submitted screenshots with anime wallpapers yourself? (I could be wrong since I haven't visited the gentoo forums for years)

Wow that theme is sexy, I like the colors and the gradient gives it a noble look!

My new Awesome layout for my laptop.
I am in love with the spiral layout.
The only modification from defaults thusfar is the formatting of the clock on the bottom

I don't really know which font you mean so I'll assume console font. The console font is DejaVu sans mono

Eee 900. I uploaded the configs here.

I cleaned up my xmonad.hs and added some comments, but I'm afraid it's still a pretty big mess

EDIT: corrected something in the tarball.

This thread might get you started more or less.. Maybe playing with the background colour (a shade of gray instead of black) might help.
