Right, I have installed the bzr plugins now, but ironically this time I am unable to change theme. I have to stick with the ugly classic interface. Am I the only one?

No I haven't, and I guess that's the culprit? I could understand that for the Docky interface, but I cannot even switch to the minimal one...

I cannot activate the docky theme with gnome-do-bzr neither.
My card is a nvidia and I have installed the lastest drivers from arch repos (180.22-1)

I think I have composite enabled but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. This is part of my xorg.conf:

You have to be running compiz or metacity's compositor to know if it's working, I guess.

Here's how to enable it :

gconftool-2 -s '/apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager' --type bool true

I hate it that programs like these have gnome depencies, why would you need gnome-keyring in this program for anyway?

If you are using the proprietary nvidia driver (v177), follow these steps to speed up drawing which should drastically improve Docky's performance. Upgrading to the 180 version of the nvidia driver is a more permanent solution to this issue.
1) Quit GNOME Do.
2) run "$ nvidia-settings -a InitialPixmapPlacement=2 -a GlyphCache=1" in a terminal
3) restart GNOME Do.
You will need to run that command each time you log on, it might be helpful to have it run at session start, use the GNOME Session manager application to configure this.

Of course the last sentence isn't true. You can always add the options to your xorg.conf

Hi guys, I'm posting here because I've got a problem with GnomeDo and the Docky Theme.

Every time I reboot my computer, gnomedo starts with the normal theme, even if looking in the Preferences, Docky is the selected theme (like it has to be). For activating Docky Theme, I've got everytime to select another theme, close preferences dialog, reopen preferences dialog and re-select Docky from the themes menu.

Anyone got this problem too?

Berseker, How are you starting up GnomeDo and what compositing manager are you using?
I think GnomeDo might start up in the default view if no compositing manager is running, maybe if you have gnome-do and compiz running at start up gnomedo starts before compiz and therefore might fall back to the default.
What happens if you remove gnomedo from startup, and just start it normally after boot?

Same problem here, I actually hav to close and relaunch and it works fine. I'd say don't have it load on startup.

The solution to docky not coming up is to delay gnome-do starting until well after you compositing is up and running.

Edit: this is not considered a bug upstream (because, really it isn't...) so I will add a post install message at some stage so everybody will know.

oh thanks tried it, but still it starts as it started usually and not the default way..so looks like there is something more, some other setting which makes it start like docky instead of the classic way
