[12:33][root@DreaM pacman-2.9.2]# patch -p1 < colorchomp.diff
patching file src/pacsync.c
Hunk #1 FAILED at 57.
Hunk #2 succeeded at 475 (offset 77 lines).
1 out of 3 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file src/pacsync.c.rej

I guess the patch needs to be "upgraded";)

Re: Make pacman chomp

Is this patch ever gonna make it into the official pacman?
Even maybe as an optional config option???

Re: Make pacman chomp

Seriously, we are not going to do this?

Another eye-candy improvement I suggest would be making the amount downloaded update faster. Currently it updates every 11KB or so.

If all else fails we could have another pacman package. :-)

Re: Make pacman chomp

You have to add "ILoveCandy" to the options part of pacman.conf

Example:

#
# GENERAL OPTIONS
#
[options]
ILoveCandy
LogFile     = /var/log/pacman.log
IgnorePkg   = kernel26 xorg
NoUpgrade   = etc/passwd etc/group etc/shadow etc/sudoers
NoUpgrade   = etc/fstab etc/raidtab etc/ld.so.conf
NoUpgrade   = etc/rc.conf etc/rc.local
NoUpgrade   = etc/modprobe.conf etc/modules.conf
NoUpgrade   = etc/lilo.conf boot/grub/menu.lst
NoUpgrade   = /etc/pacman.conf
NoUpgrade   = /etc/cups/cups.conf /etc/cups/printers.conf
HoldPkg     = pacman glibc
#XferCommand = /usr/bin/wget --passive-ftp -c -O %o %u

And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though?

Re: Make pacman chomp

one detail about this .... if you are downloading a bigger pkg (~30mb), then the action is no more

what about having a c<->C rotation also, if the bar is not advancing in char (like abcde rotates in the progress-bar)

Am I really that much of a party pooper?  Poorly managed expectation, that's what it is!

Re: Make pacman chomp

Cerebral, this way you are party-pooping the "youtube videos" thread.
Weren't people supposed to find out this thread by themselves? This is the end of the hidden easter egg quest, now you gotta make up something else tongue

well, that and it's real neat to see posts from current devs, that weren't devs at the time, talking about this feature.  big_smile  Nostalgia!
