Mind posting your .Xdefaults, and is that gnome or openbox with icon support? If it's openbox, mind sharing your rc.xml for the term position?

The one time I don't post the line "Click the image for details", someone asks about it

There is no .Xdefaults for it when you click it o.O or am I missing something?

methuselah wrote:As for the icons..... well I like them in my xfce4-panel (using the cairo patch).....
What patch, and for what purpose?
It's the transparency cairo-patch for the xfce4-panel.
I use it so my icons and font/buttons stay 100% normal while the rest of the panel is transparent. Somebody has recently made a package for it in the AUR: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=22081
You can even edit the patch's RGBA colors..... I changed my RGBA to:
+ cairo_set_source_rgba (cr, 0, 0, 0, ALPHA);
and
+#define ALPHA 0.8

Go ahead and laugh at it
It's horrible I know.
Also, how do I get my memory to go back down after I've ended the program that made it jump high? I'm not to worried about it as I've got 8gb ram, but still...
It will still appear like your memory is high, but it's just cached and it's a good thing. It will be cleared if you need it, but for right now it is being remembered in case you open the app again.
EDIT: Methuselah, what xfwm themes is that?

Ahh, that's what I thought, very cool. I'm using 4.6rc though, so I guess I'll deal with transparent icons for the time being

Anybody have any other application recommendations - things like pypanel and conky that run on the desktop?
Oh, glad to see you used my .conkyrc as base, feels good.
Applications... don't know, do you like docks like bbdock? maybe iDesk? or maybe something really useful. xD

My openbox desktop:

Thank you! I really like that peptide theme.
I do, too! I find that it combines somewhat nicely with the aud-Default GTK theme, which you can see in my latest screenshots.
Ermm, I think its in some kind of archlinux artwork package, but here it is again: http://1lordanubis.yakkel.com/currentw/ … s-uber.jpg
Basically all my wallpapers are here: http://1lordanubis.yakkel.com/wallpapers/ or here: http://1lordanubis.yakkel.com/currentw/

I wanted a conky configuration that I could see at all times, even when windows are maximized on the desktop. This is exactly what I wanted - thanks very much!
Plus, I don't know very much yet about creating or editing a file like .conkyrc, so this provided a good base for me to learn.
Unfortunately, I don't really care for those bubbly-looking docks like bbdock or idesk, hence why I don't really care for the default KDE or e17 desktops However, for some reason I liked Avant Window Manager.. maybe that was different? hmm.

Just to be humble, I want to say I did get that theme idea from someone on this thread.

Mmm... sorry, no idea. I liked Avant too, ¿anyone knows a way to make it work in Openbox?
By the way, can I see your .Xdefaults? I'm having a bad time configuring uxvt , and yours is something like what I want.
Edit: Oh, and the wallpaper too. xD
Sorry, don't want to be annoying.

For having your conky visible all the time, even if a window is full sized, you have to install obconf
Once you got it installed your launch it and you click on margin.
Then, put a 17 pixels margin on top of the screen. You may need more or less than 17 pixels. You'll see by yourself.

Yes, thank you, that is what I have already done
I also leave some space on to the left of my window so I can access my openbox menu.

Or, if you have that annoying Windows key, you can bind it to the menu in Keyboard section in rc.xml
<keybind key="Super_L">
<action name="ShowMenu">
<menu>root-menu</menu>
</action>
</keybind>

Yeah I already use this keybind. But I like to have multiple choice for openning the menu.
