You can split the ncmpcpp window with strg + l.
enter a value at which width the window should be splitted and then just press "8" for visualisation mode.
In your config file you can write this

ask_for_locked_screen_width_part = 	no
locked_screen_width_part =		50

and then start ncmpcpp with "ncmpcpp -s firstwindow -S secondwindow" to start ncmpcpp with predefined splitted windows

my ncmpcpp looks like this:
