Re: March 2009 Screenshots

xfcescreenshot.th.jpg

Desktopenvironment: Xfce
xfcewm4 theme: my own (incomplete).
GTK2 theme: asn
Icons: Simplygrey
Background: link
Geany color scheme: link

What else: Tint, Conky, Trayer, Weechat, Geany, Sonata

There is a pixel on the top-right end of the window decoration that won't become transparent. It happened after I upgraded to Xfce 4.6. If someone knows how to fix this please let me know.

Nice desktop, however I'm not a fan of black (pity: on pictures of others it looks awesome, but on my own it sucks sad )
Wanted to ask: is that default geany color-scheme?

Updated description with Geany color scheme. I also stayed away from dark themes until I turned off icons in menus and titlebars, and started using  this low profile grey icon theme. I find that colorful icons combined with a dark theme makes it messy and tiresome to look at. I also tweaked firefox to prevent forms from becoming dark.

Assuming you're using zsh, can you post the config for your prompt???

I just threw a quick install of easy peasy on it, so I can't speak for Arch yet, but everything is running smoothly. The only problem I have is that my tray icons don't have a transparent background. I've tried switching my icon themes to no avail.

I had KDE4mod on my eeepc for a little while to try it out (tried gnome, kde, and xfce). It runs fine, but I ran into the same problems that I had with each of the DE's: They weren't made for small resolutions tongue All of the menu's are usually cut off, so I can never see 1/2 the options/ok/cancel/etc

Just one suggestion, don't use tinypic for image upload. It crappifies a screenshot!

I didn't mean it as an insult. It makes you screenshot just look a lot better tbh.

This is my first (and current) Openbox desktop. The GTK theme is a slightly modded Elegant Brit (colors only). I still have a few bugs to work out but have squashed the majority of them. gtkrc seems so complicated when you've never messed with it.  tongue
