Re: March 2009 Screenshots

My Arch x86_64 setup running Awesome 3.2 (PC)

thumbnail-poloroid.png
thumbnail-poloroid-1.png
GTK: Dust Burnt (Ubuntu theme), icons (that aren't in the image) are black_white 2 style off gnome-look.
Terminal: Rxvt-unicode using the Z shell
Wallpaper: Shattered Ice (one I threw together)

Conky, firefox, mocp running.

Lack of Awesome widgets, I know tongue the only ones I use are on my laptop though.

Re: March 2009 Screenshots

lswest: Awesome big_smile, i recommend you use Vimperator for Firefox big_smile, it does make firefox suitable with tiling wm.

Snap, can I get that polaroid thumbnail script?

found it, had it in a zim page.

  convert thumbnail.png \
          -bordercolor white  -border 6 \
          -bordercolor grey60 -border 1 \
          -background  none   -rotate 6 \
          -background  black  \( +clone -shadow 60x4+4+4 \) +swap \
          -background  none   -flatten \
          -depth 8  -quality 95   thumbnail-poloroid.png

How do you actually make this script work?  Do you just make this executable and run it?

Haha, thanks, I've been meaning to try out vimperator, but I just haven't got time to really try it out yet, too much school work to finish for the time being.  If there are any configs you'd like I'll be happy to post those too.

Some are here:
http://dotfiles.org/~lswest

*EDIT* about his PS1, there's a similar one here: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=64365&p=27 with code included.

Basically you use the newline ("\n") to start a new line in the prompt.  In Zsh you can do the same with export PS1="top line"$'\n'"bottom line" (of course, change the "top line" and "bottom line" bits to whatever you'd like to have there).

Re: March 2009 Screenshots

Haven't been on Awesome long myself, I switched a week or so ago, and I spent most of that week getting it to look good (and in my laptop's case not screwing it up with widgets) tongue  Yeah...my school is almost over as well, study leave before exams starts on the 24th of April, good luck with the last week!

Hm...:/ must confess I haven't. I mean, I have installed it some time ago but didn't had time to read the guide to configure it the way I like.

Have you? What has pekWM that openbox hasn't?
