Re: [REQUEST] Gamin

I was using gamin from testing and there were some problems with refreshing the desktop in KDE. E.G. If I downloaded a file to the desktop I wouldn't see it until I either logged in and out or dragged another file from my home onto the desktop. As soon as I replaced gamin with fam and started the deamon the desktop bug went away. I googled around and found there were other people with the same problem.

Re: [REQUEST] Gamin

I'm using gamin from testing right now, and I don't have that problem. That said, I did have something weird going on at some point that might have been caused by gamin (nothing would get updated and the whole system was very unresponsive), but that was fixed with a reboot.

Personally, I hate fam. It has a tendency to use 100% CPU sometimes, most notably after a resume. It's always taken care of with killing the daemon and restarting it again, but still... i find gamin much cleaner.
