Fast KDE ??? hmm
Joking... tongue Do not hit me big_smile
seriously fast. app start, context menu, copying large files and all that stuff.
i can only compare to : older<-xp, vista, ubuntu 8.04/8.10/9.04 and Arch with Gnome though using an AMDX264 4600 4GIGs RAM fs=ext4.
Fuck me i use openbox.

Fast KDE sounds like wooden steel...if you know what I mean
The day Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, is the day they make a vacuum cleaner.

But if they tell you that I've lost my mind, maybe it's not gone just a little hard to find...

well. whatever. we could have this talk for 476909 years if we'd live that long. it'd still be OT.
Im quite happy with my KDE Arch. And I state it as being fast!
Still pretty sure I'll give openbox a more time consuming try some day·

If you never tried Openbox or another light WM, how can you be 100% that KDE is fast?

How can you be sure 100% sure that your WM is fast?
"Fast" is your's and my own experience on whatever we compare it to. Fast is never an absolute attribute. Ages ago I thought my 386DX40 was fast, which it was for me.
Discussions like these lead to nowhere. I mentioned I tried out openbox once, ok I didnt make the effort to get everything set up the way I wanted it to be. Gimme a break. 1 year ago I used to be an unhappy Windows user. I stated what I compare my Arch KDE DE to.
I wish I never said my DE was fast.
EDIT: XFCE and LXDE have also been raped by me. Question is: Why use some leightweight WM / DE if u have got the hardware and the "desire" to use a heavyweight one?

Cause your hardware looks even more "powerfull" when using light WM or app...
And for me I "need" a light WM, I'm running arch on a AAO

Well, so you mentioned the "power" of hardware. I don't need to make my hardware apperare more "powerful" on a leightweight WM just for the sake of it.
Yes, I'm still very happy with my system setup as it is.
I just don't see why u keep on arguing about MY opinion about MY desktop. Enyour yourself with your's.
Besides, you didn't refer to statements before. This is so OT.

Nice and clean.Very nice! Whats your gtk and pekwm theme? I hope I could find the same for Openbox!
GTK is Bubble Verdant by fratrip. PekWM is by myself, ported from Usable-shot by flamingmoe1979.
