@Wra!th What is this game?

That, my friend, is Nethack.

It is written in the Book of Huan Ti:

After the Creation, the cruel god Moloch rebelled
against the authority of Marduk the Creator.
Moloch stole from Marduk the most powerful of all
the artifacts of the gods, the Amulet of Yendor,
and he hid it in the dark cavities of Gehennom, the
Under World, where he now lurks, and bides his time.

Your god Huan Ti seeks to possess the Amulet, and with it
to gain deserved ascendance over the other gods.

You, a newly trained Candidate, have been heralded
from birth as the instrument of Huan Ti.  You are destined
to recover the Amulet for your deity, or die in the
attempt.  Your hour of destiny has come.  For the sake
of us all:  Go bravely with Huan Ti!

Re: May 2009 Screenshots

Setting up Arch + KDEmod4 on my desktop at the moment.

Clean:

clean.png?w=300

Shows my main activity (right) and study activity (left). I only change activity (= "desktop") on my left screen. The others aren't set up properly yet, but to give you an idea my weather activity currently looks like this.

Plasma theme is mostly Glassified.

Dirty:

dirty.png?w=300

Yakuake + irssi and Firefox with Vimperator + Tree Style Tab (and some more extensions).

Conky

Conky font is called Emulogic

nova themes might work with that. or, you could take the shiki color themes and edit them to turn the dark gray areas to white. niteaurora might also be good.

You can expand the "DL" Line to the actual branch of the dungeon? I thought that this feature was SporkHack only.

Thanks, I'll definitely give those a look.  What I've been finding hasn't really meshed too well yet.

Lovely pekwm scrot there na12! Pekwm can be awfully nice, it's like fluxbox x2 with the speed of openbox (at least IMO).

niteaurora might be the one, then. it's very plain with a very small and simple scrollbar. the colors are easily editable in the gtkrc file, so that you can change them readily to go with whichever wallpaper you're using. some themes, like elegant brit, can be a nightmare as you have to change all the .png files in the panels, tabs, etc.

Custom build (hacked the source for that one..I hate "Dlvl.")

I'm still playing around with Arch Linux x64. This is Evilwm, Rxvt-Unicode, Xcompmgr, and Midnight Commander. Mocp is running in the background but not shown. The wallpaper is from Mandolux.com.

I love the color theme they use there. anyone got some Xdefaults (and maybe vim theme) that looks similar to that? I need a good low contrast thing.

Re: May 2009 Screenshots

you should probably install the patched pixbuf engine to render the insensitive buttons transparent
