Can anyone get gmime-devel to build? Particularly on i686?
I keep getting an error because it uses install-data-local instead of install-data-hook. This runs the install in parallel, and one file doesn't get created in time for it to be used by another thread. I have a patch, but it doesn't seem to work. Anyone know how to solve this sort of problem?
I can't even get the version from the repos to build:
/usr/bin/gacutil /i gmime-sharp.dll /f /package gmime-sharp /gacdir /usr/local/lib
Failure adding assembly gmime-sharp.dll to the cache: Strong name cannot be verified for delay-signed assembly

I have PKGBUILDs done for 2.27.2 now (mostly - everything that would build).
I'm about to push them out to AUR, but is there a faster way than the normal Submit page on AUR? There are something like 100 and that'll take a long time.
Or should I not put them on AUR, technically they're newer versions of pkgs from extra...

better make a custom repo and post the link
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

I don't have anywhere to host it. Any offers?

If you need some web-space I can probably help out. Just need an ftp account I'm guessing?

I believe so, but I've never done it before. Does repo-add work with ftp?

repo-add repo.db.tar.gz *.pkg.tar.gz will generate the list and needs to be uploaded along with all packages. a ftp will be enough

Might have to build up the repo on your local machine and then upload it to the web after you're done... But like you I've never done it before.

+1 for pulseaudio support. I tried it on Fedora and it works very well.

OK, I finally got round to uploading gnome-devel. Thanks to tjwallace for the hosting. Only i686 so far. And I'm a version behind. 2.27.3 is underway.
[gnome-devel]
Server = http://tjwallace.ca/arch-repo/i686/
This should be at the top of the repos section of pacman.conf. Testing should be enabled. You can try individual replacement, but it may break. Try installing the groups gnome-devel and gnome-extra-devel. I need help with setting the depends versions. It may try dragging in normal gnome when gnome-devel is needed. I haven't figured out the best way to get gnome-devel to install properly as drop in replacements or as a thing in itself. I may end up just renaming to the same as the normal ones.
Standard development warning applies. May break a lot.
Testers wanted. I'm not using this on my day to day laptop, so it doesn't get tested much by me.
Edit: I want to get the gnome-disk-utility backend in gvfs for 2.27.3. For this, I need to wait until udev gets updated. So no gnome 2.27.3 yet.

Hi, looks like a terrific effort here. Unfortunately I'm on x86_64... Any chance I could get a look at the PKGBUILDs? Tried to browse your repo through http, but doesn't support it. Or should I just run a chroot and abs?
EDIT: I just tried abs. Well, I've learnt something, which is that you can't use abs on non-standard repos .

I'll try and get the latest ones up. In the meantime, the old ones are available at

For gnome-disk-utility, there are some src.rpm out there as well as the git repo http://git.gnome.org/cgit/gnome-disk-utility/ (from which you can create a snapshto)
Offline
yeah at the moment I'm either extracting the src deb or going from git (can't remember which). However, it (or one of its dependencies) requires udev 142, whereas Arch only has 141. 142 had quite a bit added to it and I don't want to package udev and get it wrong in case I break my laptop.
On another note, I'm going away for a month from thursday, so won't update until then. However, I'll try to post my PKGBUILDs in their latest versions for people to try.

Ah... doesn't have evolution-mapi nor its dependencies libmapi and samba4. Looks like this will take quite a while.

I've done those up myself, if anyone is interested.

got 2.27.5 building and I'll upload the i686 packages and the PKGBUILDs once I'm done. On wednesday 2.27.90 (2.28 beta) comes out, so I'll try and get that done quickly.
Offline
as I can understand, there's no x86_64 repo version right now? I'm a arch64 user and If there is need of help for compiling x64 pkgs, here I am...
Offline
maybe a tip for development, you could host your PKGBUILDS on a git repo ( there are several free ones github for example ).
Offline
good idea. I've put them on gitorious. To get a copy,
git clone git://gitorious.org/moblin-and-gnome-devel-packaging/gnome-devel.git
you're welcome to try building. the build order is in there too.
Offline
Oh, that's great ! Thank you
Offline
ok.. so the only thing to do is:
1) upgrade system to testing
2) start to makepkg every single package, following the build order: am I right?
the included build-me-quick.sh script is to be modified a bit, Am I right?
Offline
yeh thats just the script that i use. its pretty dependent on having stuff where I have it. but the git clone should put it in place. I would hold off on building for a bit though - I'm going to push 2.27.90 soon. Are you 32 or 64 bit?
Offline
64bit.. ok I remain waiting new PKGBUILD then. In the meantime, maybe I can work on the build-me-quick script in order to adapt it to my situation
Offline
2.27.90 is up now. I'm building it at the moment, so I may have to make some changes. All I've done so far is simple version bumps
