Used to work nicely with upower installed... r33476.
Maybe my statement was a bit misleading, but it *was* working, and upower is still installed. Either way, now it seems to work again. Didn't work two days in a row - pretty bizarre.

anyone able to get the http server working in any latest svn builds? I had ubuntu running awhile back running the svn builds and it worked. ever since going back to arch it never works anymore.
edit: found out the culprit in this trac issue: http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/10040

Are there any "huge" issues with the latest svn version? What about the 100 % cpu bug? I'm thinking about upgrading...
Edit: And what about the "recently added" plugin? Is it working?

i'm using the new svn without any issues so far. (32 bit only)
Not sure about the "recently added" plugin but all of the ones I've tried have been working.

Sweet! Seems like I'm upgrading then. I've been using tidalfs PKGBUILD for a long time now so it's about time.

Hum, it's strange B. Im using the custom repo that was posted somewhere in AUR and my system shutdowns with latest revisions. I had one interesting crash some builds ago, image freezed and everything else was working... updated and no more problems.
I hope to see a final version soon
btw, projectM probably doesnt work with my gpu. it's an ati radeon 9250se, probably doesnt have the opengl extensions and instead of working, it displays green lines and cpu usage goes to 100%. Or is it a bug?

Well, after those few hiccups it's been working normally again for a bit now. Pretty strange.
You'll be happy to know beta2 is around the corner .
As for ProjectM: I know Zeqadious has similar issues, don't know if he uses ATi though. You might wanna check with him.

nouveau for me and it causes system lockup. Hard lockup only a physical power-cycle will help. I haven't had a chance yet to test with nvidia prop.

Hello!
I have been experiencing some weird problems with xbmc-svn lately, just haven't cared about it until now. So, somehow I cannot watch any shows/movies (720p, mkv) with VDPAU on. If I have the "Allow hardware acceleration (VDPAU)" on, it just stays and do nothing. Not even crashing (it did crash before if i e.g. watched one episode and started another episode)...
I have upgraded with both Syu and xbmc-svn. Still no luck. Has anyone had something similar? Any logs for this kind of behaviour?
Offline
You could provide us a log... Just open xbmc, try to play a video (that fails), exit xbmc and post here the ~.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log Or read it and solve the problem, the errors are pretty obvious sometimes.
Try to use xbmc as root and see if the video works.

Okay, I think I've solved it now.
http://pastebin.com/0SmdXyzZ. What I did was to increase the "iGPU Frame Buffer Size" in BIOS to 256mb from 64mb. I managed to play two videos without any problems.
I assume that's the thing to change to give the GPU more RAM? And giving it more RAM doesn't harm the GPU in any way?

64MB of video ram is not enough for vdpau at higher resolutions. Giving more ram to gpu won't harm anything if you still have a lot of ram reserved for the operating system.
Problem solved, keep the 256mb

It seems there are some problems with the addons in rev 33873. Is this still a problem in 34043-1?
Offline
Addons always worked fine for me. There has been some scheduled downtime a few days ago though, that might have been the problem for some people.
On another note, are there other people using Arch/Xbmc/CrystalHD? If so, how are the 34000+ revisions treating you? I have run into this problem, would like to know if you are experiencing something similar.

Thanks B! Compiled and installed rev34043-1 and the addons are working just fine.

Just a heads up: for those using Xbmc on the AppleTV on Linux, you need to set CrystalHD to use 8 DMA buffers instead of 16. While 16 is said to improve CrystalHD performance, it doesn't play nice with the 256 MB RAM the AppleTV has...
I have a PKGBUILD here. It will build both the kernel module and the userspace library.

I'm running the rev 34362 of xbmc-svn.
Something is not going well with h264 content playing. Here is what the output looks like: http://i52.tinypic.com/j982f8.png
I don't know if there is a dependency missing or something else...
I also get a crash when I press stop, even with correctly playing videos.
Here is the command line output:

Hello X-dark,
I also encountered problems with newer revisions. When playing a video playlist, xbmc crashes when the video changes.
Best practice is to report this stuff on the xbmc bug-tracker. This is a development version.
Or simply try newer revisions.

Yes I will. This is probably an upstream bug.
But what about the h264 video playing bug ? Has anyone already encountered this ?
EDIT: Done here: http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/10447

Nevermind, I found the problem. I have created a package that solves this issue.
If the package maintainer keeps track of this topic, please update the PKGBUILD and replace the libmicrohttpd dependency with libmicrohttpd-xbmc. This package include the correct version of libmicrohttpd that work with XBMC.

hey i just want to say this is awesome
just got xbmc set up to my new 46" tv on my old xbox

There is already libmicrohttpd in AUR, quick search find 3 of them, including yours. http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?O … _Search=Go .

Wow. I can't believe I totally did not check the AUR before... Oh wait. =P
Let me emphasize: "This package include the correct version of libmicrohttpd that work with XBMC."
The one in AUR is version 0.9. The second one is the svn version, which is even higher than 0.9 (obviously). My version is 0.4.6, which is the only version that works with XBMC and their new HTTP server. XBMC does NOT support 0.9 or SVN of libmicrohttpd.
You may also want to read my comment on the xbmc-svn page (a few comments down). Says pretty much the same thing as above, though.
Thanks.
